Tell us a little about who you are and what you do...

Hi, I'm Jenny Evans from Personalised Poems.  People write some thoughts and details about their loved one and I turn it into a poem!

What does success mean to you, right now?

Getting my poems out there and making some money from them. I have enjoyed writing poems for myself and for family occasions and friends and family have encouraged me to write for others and share my creativity!

What do you love about what you do?

Using my creative side! When I’m wearing my Rainbows End (Emotional Wellbeing) hat, I encourage people to embrace variety and enjoy different ways of relaxing – for me that was poetry. Now I have an excuse to do more of what I love. Also, I must add that people’s reactions have been beautiful. Not that I enjoy making people cry, but often tears are the reaction, hopefully of joy as I’ve captured precious memories and thoughts onto paper for people to keep forever! Sentimental…but gorgeous!

What do you find most challenging?

I think most times I sit down to start writing that I won’t find the words. Thankfully I enjoy that challenge. From a business point of view, the challenge is reaching my target audience – people who are happy to pay for my service and think that a poem is a thoughtful and unique gift.

What's your biggest achievement(s) to date?

I have now written several poems and every customer has been delighted with their poem. I have set up a new web site and Facebook page and I’m trying to sell via different online shops such as Etsy and Not on the High Street.

What are your hopes and dreams for future success and happiness?

My hope for future success is that I can manage ‘portfolio working.’ This gives me variety in my working life and allows me to do things I enjoy and bring me happiness.

What's your best piece of advice for others wanting to feel more successful?

Things take time, allow things to grow and develop. The idea for writing poems for people other than my family and friends came about a while ago, but the decision to push it forward took a little longer. So…that is the right time!

Anything else you’d like to add?

Please help me to spread the word and consider my service for people’s special occasions. I love it when people read them out as a special toast – rather than the usual “Congratulations!” it makes a party very special.
